Year 1996 1st weekend: My first Fest, I distinctly remember taking
pictures. But I have no idea where they are, dammit. Someday,
maybe, I'll find them...
For anyone who cares about this stuff, all pictures from 1997-2001 were
taken with a Fuji Discovery 312 Zoom (38-120) point and shoot 35 mm camera.
Pictures from 2002-2006 onward were taken with a Canon S330 ELPH digital camera.
For 2007 and later, I'm using a Nikon Coolpix S-10, and really love it.

me for permission. I'll probably give it.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but if you want even more words, check
out my Jazzfest Diaries for the stories behind the pictures.

1300+ photos, searchable by performer, venue/stage, or date.
Got a site to suggest? Email me. I'm mostly looking for pictures of the
artists, the food, the crowds, the scene; anything but a bunch of shots of you and your
friends.
Jazz Fest Photo Tips
The best light comes late in the day (after 5:30 or 6:00), especially at the Congo
Square and Acura Stages. The late afternoon sun shines directly onto the Congo
Square stage.
Climb the bleachers in the Tents and at Fais Do Do to elevate yourself above
the crowd.
In the tents, security and other fest-goers will usually allow you to walk up front to
take pictures, as long as you don't dawdle in the walkways for too long.
